MG Motor India revealed the new MG Astor SUV, British carmaker’s fourth SUV, after the MG Hector, MG Gloster, and MG ZS EV to hitch its India line-up. the costs for the new MG Astor SUV are going to be announced next month. The new MG Astor SUV is that the company’s most technologically advanced mid-sized SUV which will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun in India. The new MG Astor is that the petrol-derivative of the MG ZS EV sold in India and features a up to date design including a spacious interior and latest tech gizmos.
MG Astor SUV exterior design:
The MG Astor SUV will share proportions with its electric sibling, the MG ZS EV. The Astor SUV is 4,323mm long, 1,809mm wide, 1,653mm tall, and sits on a wheelbase of two ,580mm. However, a couple of design elements will differentiate the 2 models. At the front, the Astor SUV features MG’s traditional hexagonal grille with a honeycomb design, which frames the MG badge. Carl Gotham, the director, SAIC Design Advance Europe, emphasized that the grille is really India-specific, and designed keeping in mind the Indian roads, and their
needs. It also features swept-back bi-function LED projector-headlamps surrounded by the LED DRLs within the upper section, and fog lamps that double up as turn indicators lower down. The sculpted front bumper gets mesh-patterned air vents. In profile, the MG Astor SUV gets 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, silver roof rails, and an angular glasshouse, offering a singular touch. The beltline gets chrome treatment, while the ORVMs receive a body-color scheme. The black claddings adjoining the short overhangs accentuate the length of the Astor, as a personality line stretches from the headlamps and runs towards the LED taillights . The roof tapers towards the C-pillar, giving an SUV-coupe touch to the mid-sized SUV. At the rear too, the traditional design continues with many color-coding to offer the Astor a up to date look.
